Idol Chartwatch, September 3: Idols Slow Down on the Charts

It was not a particularly exciting week for Idols on the charts. There were no new entries and no significant upward or downward movement. Read on for this week’s chart results.

After an impressive debut, David Archuleta’s “Crush” dropped out of the Hot 100 top 10, slipping to #12. The song fell from #12 to #21 on the Pop 100 and was also down on the digital lists, falling from #1 to #6 on both Hot Digital Tracks and Hot Digital Songs. The single did better on the Pop 100 Airplay chart, rising three spots to #36 on the Pop 100 Airplay chart. It was also up on the Hot Adult Contemporary list (29 to 26) and Mainstream Top 40 (40 to 31).

Idol Albums

Idol albums were fairly stable on this week’s Billboard 200. Jordin Sparks is down nine to #80 and Daughtry dropped from #70 from #78. Carrie Underwood’s Carnival Ride is up from #38 to #35. It also rose two spots to #5 on the Country Album chart.

Chris Sligh’s Running Back to You dropped 14 spots to #40 on Top Christian Albums and 13 spots to #46 on Top Christian and Gospel Albums.

Rounding out the Idol albums on this week’s charts, Josh Gracin’s We Weren’t Crazy is down 13 spots to #66 on the Country Album chart and Bucky Covington is down two spots to #50.
