So You Think You Can Dance 3: Which Dancers Will Go Sixth?

by Belle Book -- 07/25/2007
Belle was really off with her predictions last week. Only one of her predicted bottom three couples wound up there, and none of her predictions for elimination were cut. Will that change this week? And with the power shifting from the judges to the viewers, will Danny be able to survive? Find out inside!

I didn’t have a good week when it came to predictions. I correctly predicted that Lauren & Neil would be one of the bottom three couples, but that was the only prediction I got right. I didn’t anticipate that despite Anya & Danny’s fine foxtrot performance, they weren’t popular enough (especially Danny) to avoid a third trip to the bottom three. As for Lacey & Kameron, I obviously overestimated Lacey’s popularity. That’s certainly why that couple wound up in the bottom three.

And I really struck out when it came to predictions. For the girls, Lauren pulled off a great solo when it counted. I certainly couldn’t have anticipated that she would do just that. Anya just couldn’t pull off a good enough solo. It seems that most of the ballroom dancers have trouble when it comes to solo routines, and Anya proved it. As for Hok, he was unique but just not versatile enough in the various styles.

This week, there will be five couple routines. They are as follows:

Lauren & Pasha will be doing a hip-hop routine choreographed by Shane Sparks. Sabra & Kameron will be doing a contemporary routine choreographed by Tyce Diorio. Lacey & Danny will be doing a samba choreographed by Toni Redpath. Jamie & Dominic will be doing a Viennese waltz choreographed by Dmitry and Heidi from Season 2. Sara & Neil will be doing a disco routine choreographed by Doriana Sanchez.

After that, each performer will be doing the same solo, choreographed by Wade Robeson. So, who will be the bottom two girls and bottom two guys this week?

I predict that Jamie and Lauren will be the bottom two girls. Jamie’s nice enough but she’s one of three contemporary dancers (the others being Lauren & Sabra) and I think Sabra’s more memorable than Jamie, and has generally done a little better than Jamie. As for Lauren, she’s generally underperformed for whatever reason and she’s not very unique.

The bottom two guys will probably be Danny and Kameron. Although Danny’s technically great, he’s got a problem connecting to the audience. He seems arrogant, though it might only be an appearance. Kameron is nice, but has been overshadowed by Lacey. Also he’ll be competing with Neil for the teen girl vote, and I think Neil will do better here.

So which guy and which girl will be sent packing? I think it’s time for Lauren to say goodbye. She did well in getting to the top ten and making the tour, but she’s stumbled too many times for the audience to root for her. Joining her will be Danny. It’s just not enough to have great technique. You need to connect with the audience, and Danny just can’t do that.

So there you have it. I predict that Danny and Lauren will have to pack their bags. Will I finally get a 100% accurate prediction? Or will I be off yet again? I can say this; I doubt I’ll be absolutely wrong this time!
